Ming Kai Leung earned his MFA in film from Columbia University in New York, where he won the school's Best Cinematography Award three times. He also attended Asian Film Academy organized by Busan International Film Festival, where he won the Best Performance Award as a cinematographer.

His feature debut as a cinematographer, Anocha Suwichakornpong's MUNDANE HISTORY, won the top prize Tiger Award at Rotterdam and the NETPAC Award at Taipei Golden Horse. It also earned Ming Kai an invitation to compete at Plus Camerimage, the International Film Festival for the Art of Cinematography in Poland.

Ming Kai's recent cinematography efforts include OLD STONE, which premiered at Berlin, won Best Canadian First Feature at Toronto and won the FIPRESCI prize at Vladivostok. It was nominated for Archievement in Cinematography by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. BY THE TIME IT GETS DARK competed at Locarno and won New Talent Award at Hong Kong Asian Film Festival. It won Best Picture at the Thailand National Film Association Awards, and was nominated for Best Cinematography. MURMUR OF THE HEARTS, directed by Sylvia Chang, was the opening film of Hong Kong International Film Festival. Ming Kai also shot INVISIBLE SPACES, the first Georgian short film selected for official competition at Cannes.

Over the years, Ming Kai has shot in many countries, including the United States, China, India, Thailand, Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines, Canada, Japan, Greece, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

As a director, Ming Kai's short film THREE BOYS won the top prize Gold Award at the Hong Kong Independent Film and Video Awards, the most important short film competition in Hong Kong. It also represented the Philippines in competition at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, the world's leading showcase for short films. LOCK was an official selection of Tribeca Film Festival, TWO GIRLS won the Top Prize at China-America Festival of Film and Culture, and ON ONE competed at San Jose International Short Film Festival.

梁铭佳毕业於纽约哥伦比亚大学电影系硕士课程,并先后三次夺得该校最佳摄影奖。他亦於釜山电影节主办的亚洲电影学院以摄影师身份得到最佳表现奖。他摄影的首部长片《看似平凡的故事》得到鹿特丹电影节金虎奖及金马影展亚洲影评人协会奖(NETPAC AWARD)。该片亦於波兰Plus Camerimage国际摄影师电影节竞逐最佳新摄影师奖。

他最新的摄影作品包括香港电影节开幕电影张艾嘉导演的《念念》、柏林电影节参展作品《老石》、泰国电影协会年度最佳电影《入黑之时》、《陪安东尼度过漫长岁月》等。《老石》和《入黑之时》亦分别入围加拿大及泰国年度最佳摄影。短片作品 《Invisible Spaces》成为格鲁吉亚第一部参赛康城影展的正式竞赛短片。

美国、泰国、台湾、印度、希腊、刚果民主共和国等都是他曾於拍摄的国家。他摄影的长片及短片亦曾在多个着名影展播放或竞赛,包括康城影展、柏林影展及纽约电影节等。
